About Poe & Co.

At Poe & Co., we're Michelin-trained chefs elevating dried camping meals. We craft 100% vegan meals in small batches by focusing on clean, superfood ingredients, robust flavor, and big time functionality. Our goal is simple: to make the outdoors more accessible with better-for-you, shelf-stable meals. Use these pouches as a whole meal or add fun additions like grilled avocado, fried eggs, and a crisp beer.

In 2015, Jamie and Jayson met, and together, they had the vision of creating a business that blends their passions of both food and family. They currently own and operate Poe & Co, a Santa Barbara based boutique catering and meal delivery company. They have 2 young kids who they take camping whenever they have a chance.

Product info.

Who are these products for?

Anyone who loves to eat in the outdoors.

Use these pouches as a whole meal or add fun additions like grilled chicken, fried eggs, fresh herbs, and a crisp beer.

Are your meals gluten free and vegan?

Our Chickpea Coconut Stew and Sweet Potato Quinoa Skillet are both vegan and gluten free. Our Black Garlic Ramen Bowl contains gluten but is vegan.

I filled it to the line on the bag but it seems watery/dry.

Use the water squiggle on our packaging as a guide and use your best judgment. It’s better to add more water than remove.

Can I bury or burn the bags?

Until we can find packaging that is compostable or recyclable, the ultimate rule of the outdoors is to pack it in and pack it out- leave no trace. We opt to use them as mini trash bags until there’s access to a trash can.

How long does it take for meals to rehydrate?

About 20 minutes. Just add the boiling water, seal, open a beverage and hang out. If you try your meal and there are any harder pieces, simply reseal the pouch and give it some more time.

What if I don't have a measuring cup?

While having access to a measuring cup (many water bottles and camp stoves include volume markings) provides an accurate result, we’ve marked a waterline right on the bag. This is an approximation so remember that you can always add more water but you can’t remove it once it’s in there. Error on the conservative side.

Can I just fill the pouches with cold or warm water?

We do not recommend filling the pouches with anything less than BOILING liquid for the best results. If you have access to bone or vegetable broth- YUM!

High altitude cooking?

Water boils at lower temperatures at high altitude so this means that it may take longer for meals to rehydrate.
